Day 01 :

Arrival in Tanzania

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be welcomed by your mountain team and transferred to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha for briefing and equipment check.

Day 02 :

Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp

Elevation: 1,800m to 2,850m
Hiking Time: 5–7 hours
Habitat: Rainforest

After breakfast, drive to Umbwe Gate for registration and meet your mountain crew. Begin the trek through thick rainforest trails filled with giant trees, vines, and tropical vegetation. The trail is steep from the beginning, making it one of the most demanding starts on Kilimanjaro.

Arrive at Umbwe Cave Camp in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 03 :

Umbwe Cave Camp to Barranco Camp

Elevation: 2,850m to 3,900m
Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Habitat: Moorland

The trail becomes steeper as you leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone. Enjoy stunning views of valleys and towering cliffs as you traverse dramatic ridges beneath the Southern Ice Fields.

Arrive at the beautiful Barranco Camp, located beneath the impressive Barranco Wall.

Day 04 :

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Elevation: 3,900m to 4,035m
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert

Begin the day by climbing the famous Barranco Wall, one of the most exciting sections of the trek. Though steep in appearance, it is manageable and rewarding, offering incredible panoramic views.

Continue through rolling alpine terrain to Karanga Camp for rest and acclimatization.

Day 05 :

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Elevation: 4,035m to 4,640m
Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert

A shorter trekking day allows time to rest and prepare for summit night. Ascend gradually to Barafu Camp where spectacular views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks can be seen.

After an early dinner, rest before the midnight summit attempt.

Day 06 :

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Elevation: 4,640m to 5,895m to 3,100m
Hiking Time: 10–14 hours
Habitat: Arctic to Rainforest

Around midnight, begin the final ascent toward Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Reach Stella Point at sunrise before continuing to Uhuru Peak for unforgettable summit views above the clouds.

After celebration and photos, descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp.

Day 07 :

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate – Departure

Elevation: 3,100m to 1,640m
Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
Habitat: Rainforest

Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate where summit certificates are awarded. Meet your driver and transfer back to the hotel for a hot shower and relaxation before airport transfer or onward safari extension.
