Day 01 :

Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Elevation: 1,800m to 3,000m
Hiking Time: 5–7 hours

After breakfast and a briefing, drive to Machame Gate for registration. Begin your trek through lush rainforest filled with giant trees, colorful birds, and monkeys. Arrive at Machame Camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 02 :

Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Elevation: 3,000m to 3,840m
Hiking Time: 4–6 hours

Leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone with dramatic views of the mountain and surrounding plains. The trail becomes steeper as you approach Shira Plateau, one of Kilimanjaro’s most scenic areas.

Day 03 :

Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Elevation: 3,840m to 4,630m then descend to 3,950m
Hiking Time: 6–8 hours

Today is important for acclimatization. Hike toward Lava Tower through alpine desert terrain before descending to Barranco Camp. Enjoy spectacular views and prepare for the next day’s climb.

Day 04 :

Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Elevation: 3,950m to 4,035m
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours

Start the day by climbing the famous Barranco Wall — a thrilling but non-technical section offering breathtaking views. Continue through valleys and ridges before reaching Karanga Camp.

Day 05 :

Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Elevation: 4,035m to 4,640m
Hiking Time: 3–5 hours

A shorter trekking day allows time to rest and prepare for summit night. Reach Barafu Camp in the afternoon, enjoy an early dinner, and sleep before the midnight summit attempt.

Day 06 :

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Elevation: 4,640m to 5,895m then descend to 3,100m
Hiking Time: 10–14 hours

Around midnight, begin the final ascent to Uhuru Peak. Reach Stella Point at sunrise and continue to the summit of Africa. Celebrate at Uhuru Peak before descending back to Barafu Camp for rest and continuing to Mweka Camp for overnight.

Day 07 :

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

Elevation: 3,100m to 1,640m
Hiking Time: 3–5 hours

Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate where you receive your summit certificates. Transfer back to the hotel for relaxation and celebration.
