Day 01 :

Marangu Gate → Mandara Hut

Altitude: 1,870m → 2,700m
Distance: 8 km | Time: 4–5 hrs
Habitat: Rainforest

After registration, trek through dense forest filled with birdlife and monkeys. Arrive at Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 02 :

Mandara Hut → Horombo Hut

Altitude: 2,700m → 3,720m
Distance: 12 km | Time: 6–7 hrs
Habitat: Moorland

Leave the forest behind and enter open moorland with great views of Mawenzi Peak. Overnight at Horombo Hut.

Day 03 :

Horombo Hut (Acclimatization Day)

Altitude: 3,720m

A rest and acclimatization day. Optional short hike towards Mawenzi or Zebra Rocks, then return to Horombo Hut.

Day 04 :

Horombo Hut → Kibo Hut

Altitude: 3,720m → 4,700m
Distance: 10 km | Time: 5–6 hrs
Habitat: Alpine desert

Kibo Hut → Uhuru Peak → Horombo Hut

Altitude: 4,700m → 5,895m → 3,720m
Distance: 22 km | Time: 10–14 hrs

Midnight summit attempt. Reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, at sunrise. Descend back to Horombo Hut for overnight.

Day 06 :

Horombo Hut → Marangu Gate

Altitude: 3,720m → 1,870m
Distance: 20 km | Time: 5–6 hrs

Final descent through rainforest. Receive your summit certificates and transfer back to Arusha.
